An idealist young cardiac fellow gets caught up in a pay-for-organs scheme. The Russian (or some foreign) mob is involved and it gets very action movie by the middle. Meh. It takes place in Boston, but there's almost no evocation of that city. It could have been anywhere. There's a subplot (or parallel plot) involving a young boy named Yakov who, along with his friends, thinks he's being taken to America for adoption but is really being sold for his organs. That plot was actually quite compelling and well-written, but there's not enough of it, and the two plots barely come together at the end. It was like they were written by two different people, and the smaller plot was definitely superior.
