I can't say enough good things about this book. It was poignant, sad, intriguing, and, best of all, beautifully written. I don't know if any of the loose science of this book stands up (as others have pointed out), but I don't care. I just loved the perspective of how the book was written--the memoirs of a young girl written years in the future. I loved how the author always alluded to graver concerns and complications to come, without going into specific detail. It left it to the reader's imagination to consider how the world would look like in years to come. It was a gem.
