A M A Z I N G
Greene describes Haiti in a timeless way, in a way that makes me feel the unity of the two tiny nations on the one island below an above the big continents. The writing is timeless, and I see now why John Irving's books always show respect for Greene. The book weaps for Haiti and for those of us that dispair her.
