Another mob novel from the author of The Godfather. The summary touts it as a "semi-sequel" to The Godfather, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. The story is a strange mish mash of a mob thriller and a behind the scenes look at the power struggles in Hollywood. Neither work very well. There are far too many characters and chronology jumps. He will spend an entire chapter on a new character, only to kill that character at the end of the chapter. One integral character is only introduced 3/4 of the way into the book. Very frustrating to read, but the mob parts are where the book does redeem itself somewhat.
