Blood Rose (Blood, #2)

Blood Red was better. This one played up the historical aspect a little more, and I am not a fan of historical pieces, but that didn't interfere with my enjoyment. I just did not like this heroine as much. She was sort of all over the place mentally and emotionally: weak one moment, stronger another, shy, temptress, whiny, etc. It got a little exhausting following her and wondering which person she would be in which situation.
My other disappointment was that her sex scenes didn't wow me like they did in Blood Red. They were shorter and disconnected through most of the book. There was a lengthier sex scene near the end (like 50 pages from the end) that was very good and what I had gotten used to from Blood Red. But that was only one of about 10 sex scenes that I enjoyed like that....the others seemed to be rushed.
So those are the two major reasons I gave it two stars. I did finish the book and did not hate it, it was just okay. I will probably try one more of Sharon Page's books, but most likely will wait awhile. I hope I didn't read the best one first...that makes for a letdown with the others!

I agree. Sharon Page seems to either hit it perfectly (Sin, Blood Red) or hit the 'just ok' mark. I still want to continue reading her, but I make sure to look for her books used so I don't have to pay full price. Just in case.
