I thought I wouldn't be so harsh, but what have I got to hide! The book wasn't good at all. Her writing lacked some style - don't know, maybe I'm just the classic cozy-books kinda type, but in terms of personal style and creating the feeling, Gerritsen was a bit too blank page for me. Terrifyng, yes, but too hard to believe. The murderer's point didn't really get across and I started thinking he was only there for provocating some feminism and showing how victim everyone else (all women were) was. I found Hoyt one of the likeable things, though. he didn't make any sense but he was an INTERESTING person, unlike Rizzoli, who was all pissed about herself being a female and everything happening because she was a female.
The tampon was crossing the line. This would actually never happen in real life and I don't know why it should in a book.
It could all be put together in just a few lines. "Women are so discriminated. Stop being men. women all victims in the end, even the whiny cop named Rizzoli."
The crime was so overthought and I'd even say this book remains a bit pathetic in my memory. And I am sorry to say that.
