I liked Hunger well enough. It is an interesting and original premise - a girl suffering from anorexia is chosen to be one of the Riders of the Apocalypse, Hunger. The snarky irony of that appeals to me. I have not enjoyed the next two books in the series as much. Too didactic and too much time at the beginning of the books making the protagonists as hate-able as possible. Though possibly the author is trying to make them pitiable. There's also some annoying repetition as, for example, in Book 3, when Famine's head is described as the doughy brow under the greasy hair about 3 dozen times. Really. All of my adult criticisms aside, I can think of some of my teen readers who might enjoy these.
