After her husband passed away, Jo Marie decides to switch careers, to start over fresh. She falls in love with a Bed and Breakfast that is for sale in Cedar Cove and instantly makes an offer. After moving in, she gets herself settled and ready for her first two guests.

Josh is back in town only temporarily, after being called home to help care for his step father whom he never got along with. He expects to check in, and leave shortly after. Plans change when an old friend shows him that maybe his step father regrets the past just as much as Josh does.

Abby reluctantly comes back to Cedar Cove for her brother's wedding. She isn't happy to be back, and thinks the town isn't going to be any happier that she's back, but she must put on a brave face because she is truly happy for her brother.
