I love romance, especially paranormal and historical romances. So, when I came across this book that combines my two favorite sub-genres, I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed. Enchanting the Lady had me charmed from the minute I started reading and thoroughly engaged in the story until the very last page.

I loved the world in this story, it is a historical time period (England in the 1800s), but the social heirarchy is determined by magic. The world is full of magic and illusion, spell casters and shape shifters. It took me a little while to fully understand the world, but I loved the creativity and the characters.

Lady Felicity is used to being ignored, passed over, and not having any magic. However, when Sir Terrence Blackwell, a lion shapeshifter crosses her path, her life begins to change. Terrance has no trouble seeing past the magic hiding Felicity, it is dangerous relic magic that doesn't affect his kind. It is Terrance's job to find the relic behind the magic which gives him an excuse to get close to Felicity. However, Terrance tries to keep his heart guarded because he has been deceived before and he can't be sure that Felicity is being used by the relic or the one using the forbidden magic.

I enjoyed how this story unfolded. Felicity is slowly introduced to the world outside of her over protective aunt and uncle's home. Terrance and Felicity have a sizzling connection, even though Terrance tries to deny it. By the end of the book, I was frustrated with Terrance's lack of trust in Felicity, he let his past cloud his judgement. However, Terrance grows as a character and as he learns the truth, his fierce lion nature takes over, making for a thrilling story.

Readers, if you like paranormal or historical romances, I highly recommend giving this book a try. I very much enjoyed this one and I am adding the rest of this series to my to-read list.
