The St. Zita Society
by Ruth Rendell
by Ruth Rendell
One of the joys of having read virtually all of Ruth Rendell's (40+) books is spotting the recurrent motifs in her work. I'm about a third of the way through The St Zita Society and the arrival of Bonfire Night took me straight back to A Demon In My View – a brilliant, tightly edited book – and ditto A Judgement In Stone. TSZS is an enjoyable read so far ... an upstairs downstairs class-themed novel, set in a posh London area just around the corner from Eaton Square (Rendell's little joke).
