Read in January, 1985

I read most of it the first time for Theology II and Theology III with Glen Scorgie at Canadian Bible College, and a second time for a seminar class on the Institutes with J.I. Packer at Regent College. I loved it both times, but got a lot more out of it the second time, obviously because of the narrow focus of the seminar and the nature of the interaction of seminar classes. I am particularly impressed by the mind of Calvin. I am not sure that he was a Calvinist as some would define a Calvinist. However, I was impressed by the scope of his integration of Christian knowledge. It will likely be a permanent Christian classic that continues to prove to have much to offer future generations.
