Alyssa Yuzari's "A Worthy Adversary" has a unique, modern voice with a strong command of dialogue that keeps the plot moving. Character interactions span cultures wider and deeper than to be expected in a quick-moving, action-packed urban fantasy, and Yuzari retains a keen working knowledge of how this variance and world breadth would affect the inner workings of her Metahumans team. While her writing will improve with experience and influence, "A Worthy Adversary" is an engaging debut from a young author with clear passion for her genre.

Unfortunately, part of the mid-grade rating stems from easily correctable typos... there are /a lot/ of formatting errors here, including chapters that start before the page-break, dialogue errors, and stray typos including discordant alien letters. The lack of indentation also makes it hard to follow the page flow, especially when reading as an e-file. However, with these corrected, AWA would have ranked in the 3.5/4-star range.
