This is an amazing piece in its context (precursor of feminist movement - published 1899). I'm not big on feminism, but was impressed with the content from considering this work's time period. I do wish that feminism could be defined in some other way than affairs. Surely there are plenty of moral ways to be feminist? Anyway, fairly beautiful prose in several places, and I particularly liked the ending. Though it was somewhat predictable, it's not exactly what I'd have expected from a female author. To me, the resolution was believable, which I didn't really expect. Worth a read, if for nothing else, to appreciate Chopin's originality in composition for her sex and for her time period.
