Wow. This book of advice columns blew my mind. It broke my heart open. I've read a few of Sugar's columns in the past, but I was never one to read her on a regular basis. This book turned out to be just what this brutally raw, jagged, torn open place in me needed right now. So many of the situations covered here seemed like they were copied from my journal or ripped from the pages of my life in my twenties and my thirties. These tiny, beautiful, luminous offerings were like manna from heaven. Steve Almond describes Sugar (Cheryl Strayed) as someone offering "radical empathy" to her readers. I agree. Reading this book changed my life.
