This was a fun book. I will use this book to introduce my students to doubling. After reading the book I will pass out a worksheet and unifix cubes. The worksheet will have two columns (In and Out) The student will write a number in the (in) column to represent the amount of an object they will place into the pot. Then the students will double that number either in their head or using the unifix cubes and write that amount on the paper in the (out) column. After the students have completed the worksheet we will come back together as a class and discuss our findings.
