An amazingly gripping book, possibly one of the most engaging I have ever read. I picked it up free on Amazon for Kindle, a great ploy to draw you in to buy the rest of the books in the series! The protagonist, Captain Ash of the army, wakes in the night to every parent’s worst fear; his child is calling out in the night, and not from just a bad dream. His whole neighbourhood is contaminated by a ‘deadly flu virus’ and taken into a biohazard lab for observation. Only one man survives, with natural immunity, and escapes the facility before it is blown up in an attempt to sterilise an infectious leak. Unfortunately, the deadly virus starts to spread, as Ash tries to reclaim the one thing that he has left in the world.
