it was amazing

I just finished this book... and as usual, I couldn't put it down! I loved the flashbacks of the Georgia PD in the early days when women couldn't be "detective"... they were there to fill a federally mandated quota much as the black men were hired to do. It is amazing how ill-advanced the police force were at that time... and it's fun to watch two very different women take on the case of missing hookers who no-one cared about... and whose families wanted to forget existed to blemish their names. I love how Karin takes one character each book and kinda delves into their psyche... and how their pasts always affect their present and future. A definite must read... But if you're just stumbling on to Karin Slaughter, start at the beginning with the Grant County books... It's a long and well written ride.
