liked it

This collection of short stories was my first introduction to Joyce Carol Oates, an author I will read more of in the future. There's an element of twistedness and malevolence in the characters as well as naivety with a mixture of both intelligence and poor judgment. Sometimes the endings don't seem like endings and other times there are attempts to be like O'Henry. I enjoyed most of the stories and at times would find myself getting really involved in the characters and plot-lines. Does anyone out there recommend what to read next by Oates.
