Funny, enjoyable, and absurd, with hints of Ellen Raskin. Does not hit the reader over the head with quirkiness. While it won't be one of my choices for the Newbery, it's certainly one of the best of the "funny" possibilities this year, for anyone who's looking for that.

You know this is BW Margaret Foley's sister, right?

Wendy I didn't! It says something in the about-the-author about her being ordinary and having two remarkable sisters. One of them was a model. Was Margaret a model?

Mark Flowers Ellen Raskin - yes! I knew it reminded me of some author I love but I couldn't put my finger on it. thanks!
