The House at the Edge of the Jungle: A Novel

I found this book wonderful in its remembrances of South East Asia - Malaysia - the sultry nights, the hot heavy air, the sensuous heady smells of tropical flowers, the jungle, beautiful small women, the history of tangled cultures.... british colonialism, japanese viciousness, malayan ..... what was it? 'quiet', 'buddhism'? am I mixing my visits there with her book... hmmmm. .......... I liked even the hedonistic visit to the Patpong of KL.... or was it of Singapore.... anyway, it reminded me of Patpong and its jumble of sensory overload...... I liked this book and Isabel's search for herself in her forgotten land....
