i'm sure everyone has read this. it's one of david sedaris's first essay collections (i was something of a late adopter when it comes to the david sedaris love train, so i don't actually know which of his books was first). this is the one that contains the lion's share of his essays about being an obsessive-compulsive weirdo neat freak kid with a speech impediment. hence the title: the first essay is all about having to go to speech lessons in elementary school due to his lisp, & his dawning realization that none of the boys going to speech lessons were really tigers on the baseball diamond, if you know what i mean. david sedaris's stuff can be relied upon for being pretty funny, & he has an ability to really create a character. this might be the book that includes the essay about taking guitar lessons as a child. that one always cracks me up. basically, if you've read this, you already know what you think. if you haven't, believe the hype.
