This is a great novel. At first I thought, oh, just another Holocaust book, but I was very wrong. Yes, this novel is a Holocaust book, but it takes place in Berlin and the main character is a German (non-Jewish) female who slowly gets involved in hiding Jews and others persecuted by the Nazi regime. I couldn't put this book down.
