Plot summary: A woman wanders onto the highway an hour outside Atlanta, and is hit by a car. When she arrives at the hospital, Dr. Sara Linton discovers that she's been brutally and sadistically tortured. Georgia Bureau of Investigation Agents Will Trent and Faith Mitchell are assigned to the case, and soon find discover that there was a second victim. Will and Faith must work together with Sara to solve the case before more women go missing.

Thoughts: As with all Slaughter's books, there are moments of stomach-churning, Oh-my-God-I-can't-believe-that-just-happened horror. But despite the horror, it's a fast paced, non-stop story. I read it in about eight hours. I love the partnership between Will and Faith, and Will and Sara are so brilliantly awkward around each other. The story is full of twists and turns, and it definitely kept me guessing up until the end!
