really liked it
bookshelves: youth, 1997

I throughly enjoyed this instalment in the series. I particularly liked reading about the sod house and Mary and Laura at school. The family is not so isolated in this book. Instead, like in the first one, they have the opportunity to socialize with other people. The story introduces readers to another side of life in the 1800s. I think this is important, because it shows children that even though life was vastly different in the past, there are still many elements of life that are the same today.
