A FEW SPOILERS for Shadowfever below...

I've read how people think it takes place during or before Shadowfever but... I'm not sure how it could when they're arguing about a bookstore and car that he's already given her. That was one of the very last scenes of Shadowfever, and I *believe* Mac didn't find out about Dani and her sister until Shadowfever but some are saying FM even took place earlier than SF... Not sure where people are hearing it definitively took place *during* SF, or feeling to took place *before* SF. I've never read where KMM says *when* it takes place and my *feeling* is that it's a bridge between SF and Iced... a possible way to resolve the issues between Dani and Mac, and get Mac and Barrons back to their "Barrons/Ms. Lane" standoffish comfort level before something happens to bring them together (probably temporarily) once more. But... anyway, just MHO.

Overall... I'm not a huge fan of graphic novels. I don't appreciate the art as many as some, though Al Rio did a beautiful job on this. They're just not my thing. But being a KMM fan, I of course bought it. And while I turned it from cover to cover in only two shots (only because I started it very late one night before an early morning), and enjoyed it... I personally wish she'd spent the time either writing Iced faster, writing the next in the Iced series, or just turning this into a longer novelette or something with the same storyline. If you don't consider the art/pictures... it was a vignette... which can be good but this left me just wanting more.

If you're not into artwork/graphic novels, and don't want to keep the book for library collection purposes... I'd borrow it from a library or someone. Even though I have a nook Tablet, I got it hardcover for the collector's aspect but at $18, and that was with two BN discounts... Had I know how little *story* there would be... I probably wouldn't have.
