I really liked this book... apart from D's super annoying speech pattern. I get that he's supposed to be blue collar, "uneducated" or whatever, but I think less would have been WAY more on that end. If she had just sprinkled in a few of these here and there, it would have been more effective.

HOWEVER, I really thought the plot was gripping and full of great twists. And I really could not help but fall in love with both Jack AND D and their relationship dynamic. I am not ashamed to admit that the intimacy, trust, and angst between them had me crying more than once.

Given what happened at the end of Zero at the Bone, I am really looking forward to the next book, even though I have a feeling that bad guy is going to give me nightmares. O_O
