I am still perplexed: are the stories meant to be characters caught "in the moment;" or is there something else going on. Each story is a life on the page. They are gems, to describe them using an overused and unoriginal word. But gems they are, in 8 or 10 or 15 pages.

If you are a fan of the short story form, run, don't walk to the bookseller because Pearlman's Bonocular Vision will once again take your breath away.
