This was a light, frothy, summer read. Three girlhood friends reunite in their thirties to share a cottage in Nags Head, NC month-long Summer escape. Each has a deep emotional issue they are struggeling with and each finds comfort and support in their friendship. Ellis, recently fired, is lost in indecision about her career and future plans, while worried about her financial straits. Julia, an aging model, suffers from insecurity and is unable to return the love she has been offered by the man in her life. Dorie, recently separated, finds herself pregnant and in emotional turmoil about her future. Add to this mix a boarder who is on the run from a violent husband, and a landlord trying to save the house from foreclosure. It's kind of choppy & rather silly (do women in their 30's talk like that?), but after a stressful week, I didn't want anything heavy, and this was perfect for the moment.
