I was prepared to not like this book. I like Keirnans stories usually, but don't care for the "it's SOOOoooo goth" aspects. Thankfully, she refrained from that in this particular case, and her work is the better for it I think.

Didn't realize it was part of a series, but it functions well as a stand alone novel.

43158 I recommend reading Low Red Moon followed by Threshold. It's not chronological but it seems to work well in the series, and actually Kiernan has mentioned this too as a good order to read the books.

218555 Heh...I was actually pondering if I can rationalize picking it up today, given that I'm in the middle of 3 other books right now!

(if you happen to have the hardcover w/the woman in the water, that's my housemate Lisa!)
