I loved this book. It left me wanting more and wishing it had been longer as there were some characters, such as Bernie’s first wife and Dolly the publicist, that I really enjoyed reading about. None of my life experiences can compare with those of the characters in this book, except one. I’ve never been on safari, or listened to punk music, or ran away or stole anything. However, I have been the outsider mom forced to interact with snooty suburban blonde bitch moms and Egan nailed that chapter. She absolutely nailed it…she must have lived it too. (Shudder). I have been remembering the lion in Africa, and the drowning, and the hot oil dripping down from the ceiling ever since I first read those chapters days ago and they feel as if they are my own memories. This book took me so many places and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.
