I so enjoyed the latest entry in the Bess Crawford series. I love the way that her family relationships are revealed slowly as the story unfolds across the entire series. Seeing Bess in the role of a child -- albeit an extremely capable adult child -- shed some interesting light. Plus -- this was a very suspenseful one! I thought the weaving in of the Spanish Flu was handled extremely effectively and added immediacy to the story. I'm already looking forward to the next in the series.
