really liked it
Read from July 13 to 14, 2012

R.A. Dickey had a very hard upbringing and sports gave him an outlet for feeling like he had a place in the world. It took him many years of persevering and going back and forth between the minor and major leagues to end up as a successful knuckleball pitcher. That perseverance joined with his willingness to confront his demons honestly makes for a very poignant account. Although his 2011 season was decent, his fairy tale start of 12-1 with a 2.40 ERA in 2012 (after this book was published) is by far the best of his career.
