really liked it

So every year there's a race, the Scorpio Race, in which people from the island have captured wild horses, train them for at least a year, and then enter them in the race. This is not just any race because these are not just any horses. They are a strange, fey like creature that comes from the sea and is just as likely to eat you as let you ride it.
Puck has lost both her parents to these horses. Now her brother is going to move to the mainland and they're being evicted from their house. So she decides to enter the race. Sean Kendrick has won the races 4 out of 6 times that he has entered. He understands these horses in ways no one else does.
There's some bullying, there's a little bit of romance, there's a lot about family and hard work and tradition and holding on to your beliefs. I really enjoyed this book, much more than I thought I would.
