Silent honour was a quick easy read which I found moving and riveting. Daniel steel once again has managed to write a book which you can easily get absorbed into and enjoy. The heroine although not one you can relate to on the surface, once you get to know her you learn how she wishes to please her family but also has a mind of her own and wants to live her life as well. At first I thought her character was dull and found her annoying however throughout the novel you see her confidence growing as well as her spirit and personality. As a whole this book is not my favourite of Daniel steels but is in my top five. It gives an in depth view of how Japanese citizens suffered through the war and isof course a romance with a happy ending.
