I quite enjoyed this book, with its mixture of romance and adventure. The two lead characters, Ashlar Roman and Silhouette Havana, make an unlikely pairing. From the very outset their personalities clash. Roman is full of gung-ho brvado while Silhouette definitely has some attitude going on. There is a lot of clever and witty dialog between the two.

Silhouette is a Miss Universe entrant and someone is trying to kill her. Roman is assigned as her protector/bodyguard, but at the same time he also investigates who might be behind the attempts on Silhouette's life and why. Throughout the course of the story the two become embroiled in danger and adventure that sees them go from an idyllic resort city lifestyle, to a mountain hideaway and evetually to a tropical island paradise. Their quarry hunts them all the while and Roman has to be on his game right up to the night of the pageant to keep Silhouette alive.

This novel is a good read at a slick pace. Certainly entertaining.
