Read in July, 2012

It's been five days since The Condor finished, and I'm still not mentally prepared for it ending. It's not possible for me to seperate the experience of reading The Condor from the narrative. As others have said, this was the most emotionally-involving reading experience of the year.

90% of that was of course Isa K.'s talented writing. I can't believe she gifted us all the opportunity to read this story for free. I will most certainly be buying a copy when it is published in book form.

The remaining 10% was the other readers, and I want to thank them for the best arguments, discussion, debate, and wild theories I have experienced on Goodreads. Reading The Condor was like participating in the Lost fandom, but with a far superior conclusion.

When it comes to describing why The Condor was so good, I become somewhat verklempt. Harry and Logan keep squeezing tears out of my eyes, and I need to re-read some hot Jude/Harry/Danny menage-sex to get over it. I'm not emotionally removed enough from the story to unpick it, but one day I will.

Just read it. Now. It's fabulous.

Quotes Emma Sea Liked

Isa K.
“He wants rough, hard, violent, dangerous sex. He craves it. We could psychoanalyze this all night, but I doubt it would do any good. Logan can no more justify his attraction to a smack across the face than I can explain how empty life feels without waterproof kohl liner.”
Isa K., The Condor

Isa K. Christ, I'm going to have to actually finish it now, aren't I? *lol*

BTW, officially there's a period after the K in my username. I figure if you're going to be all librarian about it and give it an official listing it's easier to nag you to add the dot then it is to nag GRs to link Isa K to my account (although I probably should just change the username to be honest but I'm secretly worried doing that will screw everything up :/)

Sorry! Fixed it! Thank you for pointing that out.

And yes, you definitely need to finish this!

Ery Please. I hate anticipation. I'm all about immediate gratification. I want it now! (See, I'm one of those nice unassuming/undemanding readers) ;D

message 4: by Ery (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ery Amen, tell me when it's done. I'll go insane if I read each installment!

Emma Sea Erica wrote: "Amen, tell me when it's done. I'll go insane if I read each installment!"

Kk, will do. I'm going a bit insane myself, even though Isa is posting the chapters so fast! It's really awesome: funny, sharp, unexpectedly touching.

message 6: by Ery (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ery Awww.. Can't wait. Don't know how she (or any author) does it. I'd Take one year/ chapter.

Penumbra Chapters need to come faster. I'm circling like a tiger in it's cage waiting for each chapter.

I'm terrible, because Isa's updating so insanely quickly, but it's never enough! It's like being at a banquet, but you're only allowed to take one forkful every hour.

I think because the story is so good it makes it that much harder to wait. *punches F5*

Yeah :D You caused that. It's like a superpower!

Isa K. Another one? First the ability to find all the good porn now the ability to inspire inappropriately long comment threads ... all because I wanted to be able to teleport back home when I'd forgotten something!

message 14: by Ery (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ery Sorry. Obscure sarcasm on my end there.

Now you are hooked like the rest of us, Maya *evil cackling*. There will be more soon: Isa updates about twice a week at the moment.

Lisa Henry Hmmm. Any suggestions for a cure to the post-Condor blues?

The Condor got me through some really boring workplace training at the end there. Okay...stay awake, look interested and in your next break you can get back to the hot boys...

Isa K. I'll add to my disapproval of this conspiracy by saying that if I was going to write a Condor sequel it would definitely be Danny/Jude because I'm beginning to feel like Danny has a bit of a humiliation kink that motivates his decisions in The Condor along with his crush. And Jude would prefer not to go there, so it would be interesting to write a story exploring the question of whether you can have a relationship with someone you can't satisfy sexually. Super angsty. Super cuddly :D

Of course that would do nothing to dispel this reputation I have for not writing "proper" romance novels *lol* But it certainly appeals to my poly side.

Plus I could title it Fun With Dick and Shame-- hahahah *squee* :D

Penumbra Well, I wouldn't mind a Danny/Jude story. I would just hope that Danny found the person he could be happy with even if him and Jude didn't work out. I mean Danny could have a Dom that humiliated him during sex, but then their non sexual times could be a regular relationship and Danny would get his HEA with lots of cuddling!!!

See I wouldn't consider that a traditional love story, it would be one with a twist. I just need my HEA *begs like Logan*

Emma Sea Isa wrote: "I'll add to my disapproval of this conspiracy by saying that if I was going to write a Condor sequel it would definitely be Danny/Jude because I'm beginning to feel like Danny has a bit of a humili..."

And then after the sequel we're OK if you write a serial about something else . . . same universe different characters, whole new universe: don't care. It's all good.

:D

And you need a tip jar.

You said Jude got a HEA! You didn't say Danny! Is Danny your whipping boy? Poor Danny, show him some love *cuddles and pets him after he is sufficiently humiliated*

Actually I would like to find out more about Jude since we don't know that much about him. Not so much Milan. Milan is a whiny little bitch.

Milan is AWESOME!

And Isa, whether you write something in this universe next or somewhere with completely new characters, I'll read it! I thought I'd hate getting into something serialised, but I'm happy to be proven wrong. I still hate the waiting, but I love the speculating in between chapters!

I'm also loving How to Quit Playing Hockey, BTW.
