I love the unique way David Levithan tackles many of the philosophical and social issues we presently have. A is very mature for sixteen years old, having a much broader perception of the people around him. There are some humorous parts, some that make your heart ache, and overall a great piece of writing for young adults. With that said, the writing is a bit simplistic in the way that leaves little to the imagination with the inner workings of A. While we understand that life is "messy for messy reasons," (<- John Green said that :P) I wasn't a fan of A's thorough explanation of each situation's complexities. In the end, I had a few questions but nothing pivotal to the book. Overall, "Every Day" was a great story and I'd definitely recommend it with a thumbs up!
