This delightful novel packs a good dose of wisdom into a modern day setting. For 50 years Charm Magazine has been publishing an
annual “Ten Girls To Watch” feature. Dawn West, a writer of an on line lawn care column, is hired to track down as many of the 500 winners as possible and to interview them for the big 50th anniversary extravaganza. In the dusty stacks of old magazines she finds a connection with these remarkable women from so many different generations. The use by the author of a photograph and a short statement of a winner which highlights the start of each chapter makes you feel like you really know these women. As she interviews them she finally realizes that life doesn't always lead you where you might expect. Dealing with an ex boyfriend, his new and likeable girlfriend, a sloppy roommate, and other personal issues, Dawn finds help and support in the advice from so many different role models. A real treat to read!
