Invincible (The Lost Fleet: Beyond the Frontier, #2)
by Jack Campbell
by Jack Campbell
Continuing the Lost Fleet: Beyond the Frontier series ...
This book maintains a similar structure to the others -- background threats slowly growing in both perception and menace, while immediate tactical problems have to be solved by Geary and his fleet.
This volume seemed to expand the formula a bit, not only adding some depth to some of the characters, but both increasing the complexity of the universe *and* throwing in some interesting political issues.
Nothing spectacular or sophisticated, but solid military action and entertainment (plus a new spin-off series discussed).
