really liked it

I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants a better understanding of the civil rights movement. The subject matter was interesting and it was something that I didn't know a lot about. I have two reasons for not giving this book five stars. The first reason is that I felt it dragged in some spots, especially towards the beginning and middle. The second reason is the shere length and density of the book seemed to make it a daunting endeavor (and I read a lot of long books). I do plan on reading the second and third volume (I'll probably wait a few months though) so that's probably evidence enough that I enjoyed this book.
