I had my misgivings at the beginning of the book because I felt that it was getting too religious for me, so I tried to ignore the heavy overtones. But the further I got into reading the last book of the series the more I loved it.

Will and Lyra are such strong characters and you immediately fall in love with them. However, the "Bad Guys" throughout the book, Marisa Coulter and Lord Asriel, you could never really decide if you loved them or hated them.

And I love that Philip Pullman does not talk down to his audience. I remember being a child and reading above my level and truly appreciating when authors would talk to me like they had respect for me.

Anywho, overall I give this book 4.5 stars :) I will be buying it and putting it on my shelf.
