Read from July 11 to 17, 2012

It was very Twilight-esque which made it for a boring read at first. And the main character didn't seem like her age, I thought she was much younger when I first started reading the book. Overall it was an enjoyable read that got more interesting near the end. There's a lot going on in the book and the reader is only given minimal information. At times the dialogue seems a bit forced and awkward but I look forward to reading the rest of this series because the ending is a real cliff hanger. I thought the sudden change in POV was a bit weird since it was out of the blue and didn't last very long. I read this as an ebook on my phone though and it kept me entertained for some time so I'll give it 3 stars because there wasn't anything too special about the story. The idea of a city called Amaranth where mortals who were once vampires live is pretty interesting though but the first book doesn't talk about it much, I hope the next books give a better sense of it. Can't wait to read those (:
