This book is one of my favorite books. You can compare this to a real life story. This book talks about how Witherspoon has gone to High school and came back to New york to see his friends and family. Once he gets here he feels different. He doesn't really know what is going on. He feels like if he is on a labyrinth. He decides to go see his girlfriend, Gabi. She was a girl that loved to write poems. She has been acting a bit weird around him.
He then finds out that she thinks he doesn't miss her because he hasn't told her so. Witherspoon tries his best to go out with her as much as posible, now that her grandpa lives with her, her mother is sick and suposably her brother is in a gang. Something else that "spoon" found out was that she and her brother were both using drugs. That really hurt him.
He tries his best to help her out. In the end, her mother dies and this really affects her. She runs away and "spoon" goes out and find her. She is sitting on the bench and she looked like she had just used her drug.(cover)Gabi knows she is doing everything wrong but still keeps doing it. She voluntarily went to the drug rehab center. He then goes back to Wallingford, both move on with life.
