Weird things are happening to students who hang out in the passageway next to the pool inside River Hills High. A gifted singer loses her voice. A cheerleader experiences balance problems and survives a dangerous fall during a routine she knows well. A pregnant girl gets sudden migraine headaches and seeming changes of personality. And then…….. something worse, far worse, happens to another student. And another and….. Are these all elaborate pranks, pretenses designed to terrify the new girl from California? Or, worse, drive her into a relapse of her mental illness? Or is there a mysterious presence, the ghost of a student who drowned decades ago, seeking revenge? Are malevolent, bored teenagers playing bad tricks or is a spirit trying to reveal a hidden mystery from the past? And what does this all have to do with the new girl, Rinn, and her mother who fled from this town years ago?

With the skill that is evident in both of her earlier books, Before, After, and Somebody Inbetween and Say The Word, author Jeannine Garsee hooks you right from the start with suspense that builds and builds until its surprising climax. The characters are real, the setting familiar to anyone who has gone to high school, and the story is perfectly paced. Be sure to read this book when you have plenty of time because once started, you will NOT be able to put it down!
