This is a misery memoir about the girl named Constance Briscoe a.k.a Clare Briscoe. She was a product of neglected child and abused by her mother, physically and mentally.
But somehow she managed to be independent and went to uni and become the first black judge in UK and also a barrister.
It's a very moving and motivated story that taught us that everything is possilble as long as there is a will.

When reading the story as if I was seeing a story from 8 years old girl point of view.
And somehow i feel embarrased of my self whenever i read this book, I'm coming from happy family and yet I havent be somebody, not just yet :)
