My review is for the whole manga so far (38 volumes). Fairy Tail is set in a fantasy world where wizards join guilds to make a living and help the population. Lucy is such a wizard looking for a guild, and after meeting Natsu she joins his guild Fairy Tail. I watched the anime first and I prefer the anime look, but the drawings do get better after some volumes. The regions do look pretty, and the cities as well. The manga is packed with humor and action. The battles between the wizards are fun to watch, and are never drawn out unnecessary. The manga has more serious storylines where the past of the wizards in the guild are revealed. There are plenty of wizards in the guild to root for. Another good aspect of the manga are the great amount of female characters that are powerful and capable, like Erza, whether they're enemies, part of the guild or friends. There are some light romantic touches too in the manga. The characters grow in the manga.
