it was amazing
bookshelves: history, favorites

I remember going to this exhibit in 1995 at the Royal British Columbia Museum in Victoria, Canada. It was amazing to see everything! The items were preserved so well that pottery looked like it could have been painted yesterday! There was a yellow silk robe from the 13th? century, a spirit banner, gold pieces from a bridle, pottery, wooden stamps, seals... This book presents pictures and information regarding the exhibits. No matter how well the book is done, it cannot reproduce what it was like seeing the pieces up close.
