This is a good day's read, if you're the kind of reader who can get lost for hours in a book, and this book takes you into several countries, several separate people's lives, all bound together by a Medieval book which travels from Spain to Eastern Europe. The glue holding these stories together is another story, that of a specialist in manuscripts who is called in to verify the provenance of a book held in a museum, and what happens to her and the museum as well as what happened to the book itself over the ages. Imagery from this book still comes to my mind. I can see that Medieval manuscript in my mind, although it is never pictured in the actual novel.
