I've owned this book for a while now (since October 2010, when I went with my husband to Salem, Massachusetts at Halloween-time). Because it takes place in Salem, it's a wonderful regional book if you plan to or have traveled there. A mysterious book about a woman who's called to return home after her aunt (who was more like a mother to her) goes missing. The most compelling part of the story is the history of lace-reading (a way of telling the future by looking at a person's face through lace).
