I hate that I am giving this installment a 4/5 rating instead of my usual 5/5, but I just didn't quite connect with this book as much as the others.

I love the whole series, adore it and will read it again, but in places I felt very emotionally disconnected with the characters I usually enjoy. It might be because of the quick POV changes interrupting the flow or the fact I had to read so much from POVs of characters I don't overly enjoy, like Maia and Jia. As always there were some stunning moments, the scene with Jace and Clary at the lake in the cave....just stunning, Simon and Isabelle and Alec and Magnus, all perfect...but I wasn't too keen on the ending and how long it dragged on for at the end.

Still it was a fantastic series and I wait excitedly for the third series of Shadowhunter novels, the Dark Artifices....I love this world so much that as long as there are awesome characters and a decent plotline, I could read them forever. Though none have touched me like the third installment of Infernal Devices. Clockwork Princess was unbelievably amazing....
